Caitlin Staniec brings over a decade of coaching experience to the court, with this season marking her 15th year. A former standout player at Glenbrook South, Caitlin earned Central Suburban League All-Conference honors, two conference titles, a regional championship, MVP recognition, and the Scholar-Athlete award. Her competitive edge also extended to the pool, where she was a four-year Varsity All-Conference and 3rd Team All-State water polo player, though she admits her water polo knowledge doesn’t quite match the accolades.
Caitlin played collegiate basketball at Cardinal Stritch University (NAIA) in Milwaukee, where her team advanced to the Sweet 16 in her freshman year and the Elite 8 in her sophomore season, before transferring to complete her degree at California State University Northridge. She got her start in coaching early, landing her first head coaching job at just 20 years old with the Junior Varsity team at Yeshiva High School in Los Angeles.
Now back home on the North Shore, Caitlin coaches middle school girls feeder basketball and is a former boys feeder coach. She also works with athletes from elementary through high school as part of a competitive travel basketball program. Known for her high energy, strong fundamentals, and commitment to player development, Caitlin emphasizes confidence, effort, and teamwork, helping young athletes grow not only as players but as people.
Outside of coaching, Caitlin is an avid traveler, a lifelong Duke Men’s Basketball fan, and a proud Taylor Swift enthusiast. She also considers herself a connoisseur of point-based rewards programs.
