Sergio Muro

Coach Sergio Muro has been the Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach at Maine East High School for the past three seasons. A proud alumnus of Maine East, Class of 2009, Coach Muro has brought notable success to the program. In his first two seasons, the team recorded 29 wins — the most in a two-year span since 2007–2009.

Coach Muro began his coaching career at Niles North High School, where he served as the Feeder coach from 2010 to 2013. During that time, he was also an assistant coach under Glenn Olson in 2012. From 2014 to 2022, he coached at St. Patrick High School, where he coached the freshman, sophomore, and varsity assistant coach under  Hall of Fame Mike Bailey. During his tenure at St. Patrick helped the program capture two sectional championships and four regional titles.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Coach Muro serves as a school counselor at Maine East High School, demonstrating his dedication to both the academic and athletic development of his students.
